Estadio Deportivo: Barça and Sevilla swapping Mariano and Douglas

The Andalusia sports paper 'Estadio Deportivo' advises that Sevilla right-back Mariano will join Barcelona, with Douglas moving in the opposite direction.

According to the information, Mariano Ferreira is high on Barça technical secretary Robert Fernandez's list for the right-back position vacated by the exit of Dani Alves. Conversations have already begun, with both Monchi and Unai Emery giving the go-ahead.

Mariano, who will be 30 this month, cost 3.5 million euros and Sevilla hope to receive more than this amount that they paid to Girondins Bordeaux.

Douglas Pereira would form part of the deal as Monchi likes him a lot. "We watched him in Brazil and he impressed us all", the sporting director has commented before.

So if these reports are accurate, Dani Alves' replacement will be a fellow Brazilian, though it would be a cheaper option than the exciting big deal that saw Alves arrive at Camp Nou back in 2008.
