Enrique wants to see more from Deulofeu defensively

Luis Enrique says that Gerard Deulofeu needs to improve the defensive aspects of his game after returning to Barcelona from Everton this summer.

Deulofeu, still only 20, was only brought on for the final 15 minutes of Wednesday's 1-0 friendly defeat against Napoli in Geneva.

"I'm happy with what he adds to the team in attack," Enrique said about the young forward.

"However, it is important that he does more defensive work."

A Claudio Bravo error presented the Italians with the only goal of the game, but the new Barça boss wasn't in the mood to dwell on mistakes.

"He played a good game," Enrique added in reference to the Chilean stopper's all-round performance.

"It's a pity he made a small error at the end, but these things happen in football.

"Overall, as a team, I felt like I saw an improvement and I think a draw would have been a fair result."

Obviously, with the transfer window still open, questions followed on the standing of certain players with incoming and outgoings still to be confirmed at Camp Nou.

Dani Alves, whose future remains in the air, returned to training this week, and Enrique insisted he is "delighted" to have the Brazilian right-back still at the club, adding that they "never spoke about his future."

However, it was a different story when asked about Alex Song and Ibrahim Afellay.

"We will see what happens," the Asturian explained.

"I've always been clear on this, we have to find a solution, but as things stand they are both still Barcelona players."
