Enrique puts the brakes on potential Pedro and Bartra departures from Camp Nou

Enrique puts the brakes on potential Pedro and Bartra departures from Camp Nou

Luis Enrique has decided to do all that is with his power to retain all of his treble-winning personnel, which was only the second in the history of the club. The Asturian coach is very pleased with each and every one of his players and his intention is to continue with the same cohesive unit until January, when FIFA's transfer embargo ends and Barça are allowed to register players. It will be at that point, in Enrique's opinion, that reinforcements can be looked at, and if it is necessary, some departures.

In this sense, Enrique's priority is not to bring in new players, but to retain what he already has within the squad. Aside from negotiations for Pogba, with Barça unable to relent with their pursuit of the player due to other interested clubs, their coach believes that the dressing room won't suffer as a result of no further changes during this transfer window.

Each day, Enrique battles to keep hold of two players, Pedro and Bartra, who have received great offers and have already looked into negotiations. The Spanish national team forward has big clubs interested in him, those from PSG and the Premier League, and who are prepared to pay 20 million euros to prise him away from Barça. With regards to Bartra, there are also clubs interested due to the recent drop in his release clause. The central defender can leave for 12 million euros until the 30th June and is subject to interest from Italian clubs.

As we said yesterday, both Pedro and Bartra are two of the players who could be used as a negotiating tool in order to achieve the signing of Pogba. In the upper echelons of the club, it is known that Barça have two highly sought-after players who are worth at least 32 million euros in funds. Enrique is also aware of this, but also knows the importance of his players and that they can offer a similar level of quality to his regular first-team starters.

The Asturian coach has made telephone calls in recent days in order to retain both players. Enrique wants Pedro and Bartra to know that he has faith in them and can rely on them as two important parts of his squad. Barça's coach has let both of them know that he believes in them and they will get playing time. Essentially, if they take the decision to leave, it isn't because they don't feel wanted at the club.

Luis Enrique's plan is to not participate in the transfer market until January. Only then will the coach look to address the needs of the squad. As well as finding the required reinforcements, nobody will be leaving, including anyone from Barça's forward line.
