Elche 0-6 Barça: Pique shines but Messi and Neymar steal the show

Claudio Bravo 7

Made a couple of smart stops in the first half from Faycal Fajr. With Bravo and Ter Stegen, Barcelona are in very safe hands at the back.

Martin Montoya 6

A solid enough display, but doesn't show enough to make you think Barcelona will be fine with letting Dani Alves go in the summer.

Marc Bartra 7

Comfortable whenever he is asked to slot in and didn't put a foot wrong. Created the fifth for Messi with a slide-rule pass.

Gerard Pique 8

He is close to his best once again, almost impossible to imagine a couple of months ago. Scored the opener after controlling Xavi's free-kick well.

Jordi Alba 7

Got forward a lot from the back, with one strike narrowly over the bar and a header to Neymar that should have resulted in a goal.

Javier Mascherano 6

Back in his favoured midfield role and played the sheepdog well, without ever being forced out of his comfort zone.

Xavi Hernandez 7

Played like he'd never been away. Quick thinking created the first, for Gerard Pique, and after that was his usual classy self.

Rafinha Alcantara 6

A decent showing but never took the game by the scruff of the neck. Didn't really need to either, given what Neymar and Messi were up to.

Pedro 6

Not the greatest display, but when the stars are shining so brightly beside him, there's not much he can do but stay out of the way. Tapped home the sixth after Neymar's phenomenal run.

Lionel Messi 9

Scored two and set up two for Neymar. His ball for the Brazilian's second goal was so delectable you wanted to eat it. In an amazing run of form which doesn't look like stopping.

Neymar 9

There's no doubt now, he's Barcelona's best player, one other South American aside. His skill and dribbling can unsettle and unbalance any defence. More of a physical threat than Messi.
