Douglas is waiting for Barcelona transfer resolution

Douglas is waiting patiently to move to Barcelona from Sao Paulo FC. 

His side have been silent since SPORT revealed Barcelona's interest, while the player himself has been trying to stay out of the media storm, in his neighbourhood of Barra Funda. 

Discretion is one of the main characteristics of the right-back (who can also play on the left), 24.

Two weeks ago his agent told him that Barcelona wanted to move for him and that he was chosen by the technical secretary with the approval of Luis Enrique.

He will strengthen the right side of the defence regardless of the future of Dani Alves. 

Douglas waits for a positive outcome but has still been playing well for Sao Paulo, last Sunday impressing in a 3-1 victory over Vitoria.

Pato made the headlines for two goals, but the future Barca player was outstanding, setting up two of the three goals and playing in Pato who missed an open goal. 

The Brazilian knows his move is only a matter of time and he may not play for his club against Internacional in Porto Alegre. 

He is suspended for Sunday's derby against Palmeiras. 

Both he and his entourage are well aware that Barça are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and so they are not willing to waste it. 

Sao Paulo are without a main sponsor and are at a financial ded end, so selling Douglas and even other players is necessary. 

Given their negotiation fragility, the club were not happy with with SPORT's cover last Thursday, which brought to light the stealthy negotiations which had been occurring. 

There is already an agreement with the player and Barça, now a deal needs to be struck between the clubs. 

They do not want anything to overshadow the presentation of Luis Suarez on Tuesday, so the announcement of Douglas will wait until next week, when Raul Sanllehi will fly to Sao Paulo.

The value of the deal, as announced by SPORT, will be €6million.
