Douglas returns to Barcelona training as he nears a return to first team action

Douglas returned to Barcelona training on Thursday after more than one month stuck on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old, a summer signing from Brazilian side Sao Paulo, has not played since Barça won 4-0 at Elche in the Copa del Rey in the middle of January.

That was just his second appearance in a blaugrana shirt, with his first coming in the 0-0 draw against Malaga in September.

However, despite returning to work with the rest of the first team, the right-back has still not been given the green light to return to action by the club's medical staff.

Douglas will hope he has a bit more luck on the injury front when he does return, as his start to life in Catalonia has been blighted by a series of niggles so far.

Luis Enrique oversaw the session as Barça stepped up plans for Saturday's trip to Granada.

Thomas Vermaelen was still missing, but there were no other major absences, with Munir El Haddadi from Barça B joining in the workout.
