Douglas congratulates Lira... but not Lionel Messi
Douglas Pereira published a message on his social networks, giving his support to Wendell Lira, finalist in the FIFA Puskas award for best goal of 2015. The other players were Alessandro Florenzi of Roma and his team-mate Lionel Messi.
Douglas's message was as follows: "Congratulations little one. This is just a demonstration of the various lovely goals that I've seen you score in your career. Now you go to a final, in search of a dream. I ask God to be by your side, so each one can reach the best perfection possible. You deserve it brother, it was a pleasure to play by your side and to have you as a friend. It will be what God wants."
At no point did he mention Messi in his post, with some fans being unimpressed by this on Twitter. Douglas is still out, recovering from his latest injury.
