Diego Alves cited by Barcelona if Ter Stegen or Bravo leave

Barcelona face a testing situation involving goalkeepers Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo, and the club have already lined-up Diego Alves if either decided to leave the Camp Nou.

Ter Stegen has an offer from Manchester City and will make his move away from Catalonia if his demands aren’t satisfied, while Bravo is also clear that if his squad role is lessened then he too will search for pastures new.

Barça have previosuly stated that neither of the German or Chilean will be sold unless their buy-out clauses are met. But the most difficult problem for Luis Enrique to contend with now is managing the game time of two players who both want the same thing – superiority as Barça no.1.

It’s likely that the Catalan club have already contemplated losing Ter Stegen or Bravo and, with a look to the future, Bravo would be chosen based simply on age. Ter Stegen – at 24-years-old – is a long-term commitment and the Blaugrana don’t want to lose him at any cost.

Alves, meanwhile, is waiting for the final call from Barça and has put on hold three major deals, including two from the Premier League and one from Turkey.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has even refused to participate in the Rio Olympic Games to make his next move with his eyes firmly set on the Camp Nou, and he knows that Enrique is already an admirer of his qualities.
