Did Thomas Vermaelen turn up to train early like Leo Messi?
Thomas Vermaelen seemed like he was going to be the latest Barcelona player to turn up early for training, following the trend set by Lionel Messi, who cut his holiday short to rejoin the squad.
However, it was all a trick as he simply turned up at St George's Park to say hello to his team-mates after they finished training on Friday. It's not thought he will join in tomorrow either, and if he doesn't change his plans at the last minute he will turn up on Monday August 1, along with Jordi Alba, Andres Iniesta and Claudio Bravo.
Ter Stegen could be a surprise early return too, as he may join the squad on Monday, cutting his break short a week so he doesn't fall behind his competitor, Bravo.
