He has a totally different character to Luis Enrique, explained the midfielder

The Galician has impressed at the start of the season

Denis Suarez gave an analysis of Ernesto Valverde to RAC1 radio, explaining that the new Barcelona coach is quite different to his predecessor Luis Enrique.

"With respect to last year I think so [things are better]. Not just in terms of concepts and the way we’ve changed our way of playing, but training is different as well," he said.

"Valverde has a completely different personality to Luis Enrique. He is a clear thinker and is relaxed, which he has transmitted to the players from the first day. The two games against [Real] Madrid weren’t really alarming, especially when the season was just getting started. Since then, we’ve started La Liga well and we’re getting better all the time. There’s a long way to go, but the dynamic’s good."

The Galician midfielder was linked to an exit in the summer but turned it down without needing to think too much.

"I had no doubts about staying. It’s true there were two offers, but in no case did I think about leaving," added Denis.

"I didn’t want to move from here. I know I have the manager’s faith and I believe in my chances. If I take advantage of my opportunities, my objective is to be an important player here and I won’t stop fighting for that."

On the team's good start to the season he said: "It was unthinkable that we would be seven points clear [of Madrid] after six games, but we have to focus on ourselves, the season’s a long one and when you drop points, doubts can emerge.

"The dynamics is good, not just in terms of results, I think the way we’re playing is really good, too. In the Champions League we beat last year’s runners-up 3-0. It’s been the perfect start to the season."
