Denis Suarez, first FC Barcelona signing for 2016/17
FC Barcelona and Denis Suarez have reached an agreement in the last few hours to make the return of the Galician player to the Catalan club official.
After some days in which the deal seemed to become cloudy, things suddenly changed and allowed the transfer to be completed. The confirmation will arrive on July 1.
Denis will sign a new four year deal, with a further year optional, and will have a release clause of 50 million euros.
The recent interest from other clubs in Villarreal's attacking midfielder forced Barça to react quickly. Those in charge of Barcelona's sporting area contacted Villarreal to formalise the deal, after interest from the Premier League.
Had Villarreal, with the player's consent, agreed to a deal from another club before July 1, the player would have slipped out of Barça's hands.
Robert Fernandez watched the player at El Madrigal many times last season, and was convinced of the need to bring him back to the Catalan capital.
On July 1, Barcelona will pay the 3.5 million euros in the release clause to Villarreal, but we can say this Thursday that the player from Salceda de Caselas will again wear the Barça colours.
His jump from the Miniestadi to the Camp Nou, after a season each with Sevilla and Villarreal, will become reality.
