Dembélé: "It was strange to be alongside the best in the world"
The French winger said he was fulfilling a dream making his Barça debut
He said that Suárez had asked him to set a goal up for him if he came on - and that's what happened!
After making his Barça debut last night against Espanyol, Ousmane Dembélé said he had “fulfilled a dream”. The Frenchman said it was a “strange” feeling to play alongside the best in the world, referring to Messi, and also revealed a conversation he had had with Suárez before the game.
“I’m very happy, it was strange to be alongside the best in the world. It was a good victory and I felt a lot of emotions. I’ve fulfilled a dream,” he said to BeIN Sports in France.
“Valverde told me to relax and be calm,” he said. While Luis Suárez had a different conversation with him, “Suárez said to me to give him the ball and he would score. I did it and he scored, I’m very happy,” Dembélé revealed.
When asked about the team’s ambitions for this year, “we want the Champions League and all the possible trophies. I hope we have a good season and that we win a lot of titles,” he said, before saying that he was learning Spanish bit by bit.
