Date confirmed for Barcelona's Joan Gamper Trophy match vs. Chapecoense
The friendly will be played on August 7th at Camp Nou after the U.S tour
The game was agreed in December after the Brazilian club's tragic plane crash
Barcelona have now confirmed the date for the 52nd edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy, which will be against Brazilian side Chapecoense, the victims of a tragic plane accident at the end of last year. The game will be played on August 7 at Camp Nou.
A plane which was carrying the Chapecoense side to Colombia in December crashed in Medellin, leaving 71 dead, including the majority of the club's first team. Only six people on the plane survived the crash.
Barça quickly invited them to play in this summer's Joan Gamper Trophy game -- and made a donation of €250,000 -- with Chapecoense accepting but it's only now that a date has been confirmed for the pre-season game.
August 7 has been chosen to avoid the match coinciding with the final of the Super Cup of Europe between Real Madrid and Manchester United that will be played on August 8 (20.45h) at the Filip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia -- both games will be shown on Spanish television.

With this confirmation, Barça are now just waiting for the dates for the Spanish Super Cup to be defined and their pre-season schedule will be complete. Here it is as it stands at the moment:
