Dani Alves posts Instagram message as news of him leaving breaks
In a day that Xavi Hernandez seemed set to be the protagonist, ahead of his final La Liga game on Saturday, a Dani Alves story interrupted everything.
The player has rejected a contract offer from the club, per Cadena SER, and will not continue at the Camp Nou next season.
Just a few minutes after the news of his contract negotiations halting broke, the defender took to social media, where he posted some enigmatic messages.
"You and me, you and me, are united for a reason, we do what we want for one simple reason, barefoot or with shoes, we always reach the conclusion that this is love and not passion," he wrote on Instagram.
Alves also posted a picture of himself training at the Ciutat Esportiva del FC Barcelona. According to SER he will also hold a press conference on Tuesday.
