Dani Alves on Barça contract talks: "I haven't been valued as I deserve to be"

Barcelona's Brazilian defender Dani Alves has still not revealed a decision on his future after months of talks with the club. With his contract due to expire at the end of June he gave a press conference on Monday afternoon, with an announcement expected.

However, Alves explained that it is still "unknown" if he will continue with Barça next season. "We have a lot to do [this season]," he said in reference to the two finals. "Out of respect for all those that have supported me, I am going to focus on giving everything in this shirt until June 7th."

Alves, though, made it clear that in his opinion "the club have not valued me as I deserve to be valued."

"I've come out to speak because there has been a lack of respect shown and a lot of rubbish has been said. I wanted to talk on the pitch, but there are too many lies and the limit was reached," was Alves' reason for appearing in front of the press.

The 32-year-old assured that he is "not thinking about money, but about being valued for what I do."
