Dani Alves: Barcelona players should have come to FIFA The Best gala

The Juventus right-back thinks his former team-mates should have been in Zurich on Monday

Dani Alves always speaks honestly. He did so when he was a Barcelona player and he still does now as a Juventus player, as he proved during the gala for The Best in Zurich organised by FIFA.

The Brazilian defender, asked if he was surpsised by the absnece of his former Barcelona team-mates, responded: "No... and yes. They should have come. That's my opinion. Today's not going to change the preparation much because they've been prepared for a while to take on any challenge," he said in reference to the Copa del Rey game against Athletic Club.

"It wouldn't have changed much if they'd came, but each to their own (...) I saw a lot of white [Real Madrid colours] and I felt bad!"

On Cristiano Ronaldo winning the award, he added: "I have my preferences, but my vote doesn't count for much, it's all the votes. The people have chosen Cristiano and you have to respect that."

On the La Liga title race, with Barcelona five points behind Madrid, he said all "is not lost yet" and asked what he missed about the Catalan club he said "my team-mates and the football."
