Dani Alves: "Barcelona have not offered me a new contract yet"

Dani Alves spoke about his situation at Barcelona on Friday for the first time since he became allowed to speak about his future with other clubs.

His contract with Barcelona expires in the summer and if he is not offered a new deal - or even if he is - he could end up playing for another club next season, leaving Camp Nou for free.

He arrived back in Barcelona at El Prat airport on Friday with Neymar, where he was met by reporters wanting to know his plans.

"I have a contract until the summer," he explained. "I am a Barcelona player and I don't want to talk about the renewal. I want to be as good as possible during the next six months; after that we will see."

However, Alves did confirm that "[Barça] have not made an offer to renew," and although he added that didn't "disappoint" him, he visibly looked annoyed.

"That is football," he continued. "We have to finish with the same dignity that we began with."

The Brazilian full-back also took advantage of the presence of the media to to confirm that he's recovered from the injury which sidelined him before Christmas.

As for Neymar, he admitted he's looking forward to returning to action as well after finishing last year on the sidelines.

"I am really eager to play," he confirmed. "I always want to play and I'm fit [for Real Sociedad on Sunday]."
