The Liverpool star has spoken about the links with Barça

Coutinho dubbed did not rule out a summer move to Camp Nou

Philippe Coutinho has openly spoken for the first time about the interest from Barcelona. The Liverpool midfielder was asked about the reports linking him with a move to Camp Nou next season.

"I always makes me happy when I'm talked about," he told   ESPN Brasil exclusively. "It's good that a great club, like Barcelona, have interest in you because it's recognition of the hard work you're doing."

"Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world. Until now nothing has come directly to me, because if there's anything it goes through my agent. What I have to do is focus on playing because it's my agent that resolves these things."

The rumours of the move have not gone down well with fans of the Premier League club, with Coutinho's car window smashed while he was at an awards evening last week.

Coutinho was speaking before his side's win over West Ham on Sunday, and he added: "We've got two games left and a great chance of getting in the Champions League next season, which is where a club like Liverpool aways should be. I'm going to work really hard to achieve that objective."

Liverpool beat West Ham 4-0 at the London Stadium and Coutinho was once again the star, scoring twice in the win and edging them closer to Europe's top competition.

Speaking after the game, he added: "To come back from injury is always tough but I always work hard to help the team. We played well today and now we have a week ahead of us to work and think about the final game."
