Contract agreement between Barcelona and Dani Alves is "imminent"

Dani Alves will continue with Barcelona next season. This is what has been reported on Cadena COPE show El Partido de las 12.

They say an agreement has been reached between Alves and Barça and it will be made official at the end of the season.

Alves has never hidden his desire to remain at Camp Nou for sporting and personal reasons, not economical ones.

The Brazilian is happy in the city, at the club and that is far more important to him than money.

El Partido de las 12 also say that Alves, 31, is especially well-valued within the dressing room and all the players wanted him to continue to form part of the first team squad.

Alves' two children also live in Barcelona and he was keen for them to continue growing up in the Catalan capital.

After arriving at Barça in 2008 when Pep Guardiola had just taken charge, everything was beginning to suggest that cycle would end this summer.

His agent recently explained that the club were not willing to offer a long enough deal, although Josep Maria Bartomeu did confirm talks would continue.

Now it seems, despite offers from elsewhere, such as Manchester United, an agreement between Alves and Barça is imminent.
