Comment: And Florentino Perez doesn't rate Luis Suarez!

After historically hammering Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, FC Barcelona turned their attention to Roma in the Champions League with a double objective: to get the pointed needed to top the group and to see how Messi has recovered from him injury. They got three points to start with - and Messi demonstrated that, despite being out for two months and lacking rhythm, he is the best player in the world.

Barça produced a commanding performance against Roma; it was an exhibition of football from Luis Enrique’s side. With the return of the trident, Luis Suarez, Neymar and Messi once again showed off their exceptional understanding. Special attention deserves to be paid to Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan has scored 10 goals in his last six matches. He scored two against Madrid and two more on Tuesday. And that from a player who Florentino Perez said isn’t any good!

Already out of sight at half time, Barcelona were facing one and a half games safe in the knowledge they’d qualified for the next round. Luis Enrique therefore rotated in half time (Busquets came off for Samper at the break) and the same may happen in the final game, a trip to Bayer Leverkusen (December 9). This was another demonstration of the great form Barça are in at the moment - they are a team who once again want to win every trophy on offer to them.
