Coincidence? Referee of Barça's loss 4-0 in Paris in charge in Turin
Szymon Marciniak oversaw Lucho's side's mauling to PSG in February
He will not be the man in the middle against Juventus on Tuesday night
Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will be in charge of Tuesday's Champions League game between Juventus and Barcelona.
UEFA's decision to assign the same referee that oversaw Paris Saint-Germain's 4-0 win over Barça in the last round seems, at least, surprising, and even more so after some Madridistas placed doubt on Deniz Aytekin's performance in the second leg.
Marciniak, who will be assisted by compatriots Tomasz Listkiewicz and Pawel Sokolnicki, is 36 and one of the youngest officials that the competitions has.
It will be the second time Juve have been refereed by him. The first time was a 0-1 win at Lyon when he gave a penalty against he Italian side while they were defending a corner -- something not often seen. There were nine cards in that game, with Juve's Mario Lemina sent off.
This season he's also taken charge of Atletico Madrid against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund in the group stages.
