Clement Lenglet transfer on the brink of going through
Estadiodeportivo.com say the deal could be closed Tuesday or Wednesday
Clement Lenglet's signing for FC Barcelona could happen on Tuesday or Wednesday, say Estadio Deportivo on their website. THe French defender trained on Saturday with Sevilla.
At the Andalusian side they want Barcelona to pay the release clause or to go home with nothing. They will not negotiate a deal in stages, or accept more money than the 35m. Barcelona are trying all roads of dialogue to try and avoid paying tax on the deal by activating the release clause.
CASTRO: NO NEWS
Sevilla president Jose Castro said: "There is no news regarding that. Barcelona told us they would pay the clause, but there is no more news."
He added: "While they don't make that payment, he's another player i nthe squad, if the day comes we go to Benidorm and he hasn't paid, well he'll go with the rest."
Castro will not move his position because "we have no intention of the player going, or of negotiating, or of selling. Only that they go to La Liga to pay. If they do that, he will go. If not, he stays."
