Claudio Bravo threatened to leave Barcelona if he wasn't first choice

The battle for Barcelona's No 1 goalkeeping spot continues to take twists and turns. While Marc-Andre ter Stegen told Barcelona he had a big offer from Manchester City on the table which he was tempted by if he could not get the No 1 slot, according to Catalunya Radio, Claudio Bravo went last Friday to the club offices to say he would leave if he was not the first choice.

In both cases, the club's answer was the same. "If you want to go, pay the release fee clause." Bravo's is 40 million, a high figure for a 33-year-old goalkeeper, while Ter Stegen's is 80m.

It's clear that this battle will end with a controversial solution, with one of the two having to miss out when Barcelona play their first game of the season, on August 14 against Sevilla in the European Super Cup. Luis Enrique will have to take a decision - who goes between the sticks? The one who misses out won't take long in giving the club a call the next day.
