CIES Football Observatory: Ronaldo no longer in the world's most expensive XI

The Portuguese player has been forced out of the team by Neymar, Messi and Griezmann

The CIES Football Observatory's study on the world's most expensive footballers has appeared in France Football.

Inside the hypothetical XI or players with the highest value on the market are two Barcelona players, Neymar and Lionel Messi, and one Real Madrid player: Raphael Varane.

Surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo would not form part of a side based on market value, with the report placing Neymar, Messi and Antoine Griezmann ahead of him.

In goal would be David de Gea with a value of 58 million euros.

The defence would be formed by Marquinhos (47m), Bonucci (50m), Varane (50m) and Laporte (48m).

As for the midfield, Verratti (72m), Coutinho (75m) and Paul Pogba (125m), with the latter currently the world's most expensive player after his summer switch from Juventus to Manchester United.

Up front, Neymar (250m) would be on the left and is the most valuable player in the world according to CIESLeo Messi (190m) and Atletico's Antoine Griezmann (135m) complete the front line, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo (130m).
