There's an agreement over the length of the deal and the buyout clause

However, talks are ongoing over how much Roberto will earn

Sergi Roberto and Barcelona have moved closer to an agreement over a new contract for the midfielder.

According to Catalunya Radio, there was a meeting on Monday between the two parties -- the second meeting -- and while an new deal is still not closed several things have been agreed on.

The club are offering Roberto a deal until 2022 (his current terms expire in 2019) and his release clause will rise to 400 million euros from 40 million euros.

Logically, the player wants a salary to match such an important buyout clause and feels his current salary does not reflect his place in the squad anymore.

Oscar Grau and Pep Segura, who are negotiating for Barça, are trying to close a deal with Josep Maria Orobitg, Roberto's agent.
