Antonio Cassano doesn't believe the Juventus man can reach Messi's level

The former Italy international retired in the summer after a bried spell at Verona

The comparisons between Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala should stop, according to Antonio Cassano. Dybala is an excellent player and scored a hat-trick at the weekend, but the former Italy international says it's unfair to compare him to the Barcelona star.

“Dybala? He won’t be like Messi," Cassano sad. "Messi is the best player in history and only Cristiano [Ronaldo] gets close to him. You can’t compare something unreachable with a great player.

“This isn’t to take anything away from Dybala, he’s very similar to [Vincenzo] Montella. He’s strong, he’s intelligent and he scores so many goals, but Messi is something else."

Cassano played for Roma, Sampdoria, both Milan clubs and Real Madrid, among others, in a career which saw him earn 39 caps for Italy.

Having signed for Verona this summer, he decided to retire from football before even playing a competitive game for the Italian side.
