Canarias7: Barcelona make bid for Las Palmas defender Lemos

Barcelona have made an offer for Las Palmas' Uruguayan central defender Mauricio Lemos. The offer, though, has been rejected by the club from Gran Canaria as it was deemed insufficient.

According to 'Canarias7', Barça made a bid of four million euros for Lemos, who Las Palmas signed just a few weeks ago on a deal until 2021 following a successful loan spell from Rubin Kazan. When he joined on loan, they had the option to sign him for two million euros, which they have since taken up.

The 20-year-old's release clause reportedly stands at around 30 million euros, although it's unlikely Barça, if they pursue their interest, would pay that much.

Mauricio Lemos is not just being followed by Barça, though. There is also interest from other European clubs after his excellent season in La Liga. The player, 'Canarias7' continue, would be keen to negotiate with the Catalan club, although he is committed to Las Palmas, who had confidence in him when few others were aware of his ability.
