Busquets: Only my wife or Guardiola could make me leave Barça

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has once again revealed his happiness at Barcelona, except this time he has claimed there are two people that, one day, could cause him to leave the Camp Nou dressing room: his wife and Josep Guardiola.

In an interview with ESPN, Busquets explained, in reference to his future that he has “always said that there are only two people that could make change my decision to be here [in Barcelona]. One is my partner, and as of today she is here and she is Barça, so I don’t think we have a problem on a personal level!”

Up to this point, everything is normal for fans of the Catalan club. But alarm bells will be ringing by the second point made by the Spain international: “On a sporting level, the other person would be Guardiola. It’s clear I owe him a lot and for me to work with him [again] would be an honour.”

However, he did add: “But [Guardiola] knows my club is Barça and he knows it’s best for me and the club to stay here, so I don’t think he will ask for me [at Manchester City].”

English reports are hotting up after Guardiola’s arrival at City in the summer was confirmed, with various players from Barça and Bayern Munich linked with the Premier League side.

Busquets, whose Barça contract runs until 2019, has not ruled out leaving the club one day, but he says he won’t leave for cash: “If it was for money, I would already have left.”
