Brazil boss Tite: Messi better than Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo

Brazil manager Tite says Lionel Messi is the world’s best player ahead of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tite’s preparing for a game against Argentina in a World Cup qualifier next month and knows the size of the task facing him in trying to stop Barcelona star Messi.

"They are the top three," he said about the La Liga trio.

"That is is nothing new, they're the top three that have been chosen for the Ballon d'Or [last year].

"They are different generations, though. Messi and Ronaldo are more or less the same in terms of their timeline, being 29 and 31, but Neymar is a player who is on the rise, who is evolving.

"But today, Messi, for me, is the best. He has that special quality that brings something new to the game, and for us it's a challenge to be able to go up against him for all the virtues and qualities that he has."

It’s been reported that Tite will draw on Neymar and Dani Alves’ knowledge in a bid to stop Messi in November, but Barça boss Luis Enrique isn’t sure that’s possible.

"Does anyone know?" Luis Enrique said about stopping Messi.

"[Pep] Guardiola knows him well and he just scored three goals against him. We've still not seen anyone who can [stop Messi].

"It doesn't matter if Ney gives [Tite] the solution, when [Messi's] in form it's hard to stop him. I don't know the answer, but it will be a great game to watch."
