Bolivia captain explains why Leo Messi didn't shake his hand

Alejandro Chumacero, Bolivia captain, explained the reason Lionel Messi, his Argentina counterpart, did not return the handshake he was offered ahead of the game between the two countries.

Chumacero, player for The Strongest, spoke about the scene that was much discussed on social media. Bolivia went to greet Argentina before the national anthem had finished, finding Messi not ready to return his greeting.

Chumacero explained who the guilty party was. "The fourth official told me that it was time to do the handshakes but the national anthem had not finished. It was his error and a story that will remain!" he said.

After the game many Bolivia players tried to get Messi's shirt, but first on the scene was Saucedo, who got it.
