More than 12,000 socios had signed the vote and Benedito hopes to have Sunday's game

However, the club say he only had until Wednesday night to get the 16,570 signatures

Former Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito has called time on his vote of no confidence against the club's board after vice president Jordi Cardone announced that the deadline was Sept. 27.

Despite that, Benedito announced that he's sent a buro-fax to the club to notify them that he will file a complaint against the board to defend the rights of the socios because he feels their rights were violated by not allowing the collection period for the signatures to be extended beyond Sept. 27. "If they had not violated the will of the socios, we would have had the third vote of no confidence in the club's history."

Benedito also presented a document to show that he had complied with the statutes by getting notary Jose Angel Ruiz Prado to verify, count and then destory the ballot papers. "No, we're not planning another vote of no confidence because it's a big effort, financially, too. Although it would not surprise me if someone else did because the reasons remain."

Benedito added that the vote of no confidence ended with 12,504 signatures and that with those sent and he was expecting to receive by Saturday the count would rise to around 14,000. However, he needed 16,570 and he believes he should have had Sunday's match against Las Palmas to get to that figure.
