Bellerin: If I wanted to play at Barça I would have stayed there

The Arsenal full-back has once again played down suggestions he could return to Camp Nou

Hector Bellerin has said he feels very valued at Arsenal amid questions about a possible return to Barcelona.

“If I wanted to play there [Barça] I would have stayed there,” the Catalan right-back said in quotes ran by the Evening Standard

They’re quotes which back up his last comments about a move to Camp Nou, when he said if Barça called him, he would not answer the telephone

Since his explosion in the Arsenal first team, Bellerin has been followed by a number of clubs, including Barcelona and Manchester City.

However, he’s happy at Arsenal: “I was very happy when Arsenal showed interest in me and I decided to come here. I’m not looking back, I’m just looking to help Arsenal.

“It’s nice for a player to know that big teams want you but I’m very happy here.”

Bellerin made it clear that he has “got three years left on my contract so I’m just focused on playing every single week, improving and hopefully making things happen here at Arsenal.”

On talks he’s about to sign a new contract he limited himself to saying: “I’m not in a rush to extend the contract. I’m happy. I’m comfortable. I want to be here a long time.”
