Bartra deletes tweet after being left out of Clasico squad

Marc Bartra did not expect to be left out of the squad for Barcelona’s match with Real Madrid. At least that is what can be worked out by the defender’s decision to delete a tweet from his timeline just minutes after the squad was named.

On Friday morning, Bartra published the following tweet: “Really excited for the Clasico. Força Barça.”

However, Bartra deleted the tweet shortly after Luis Enrique revealed the players called up for the game. As well as Bartra, Jordi Masip was also left out for technical reasons - as is normal now - while Lionel Messi and Ivan Rakitic returned.

Bartra’s actions demonstrate, in a certain way, that he he did not think he would be left out of the squad for the Real Madrid game. In addition, both Mathieu and Vermaelen have been called up, which doesn’t provide the Catalan defender with much optimism for the future.
