Bartomeu will pin his election hopes on Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus

Josep Maria Bartomeu is set to use Marco Reus as one of his major weapons for this summer's elections.

According to 'Efectivament' on 'Esport3', the Barça president is keen to sway votes by targetting Borussia Dortmund's German international.

Barça would not be able to make the deal official until next January; so hopefully they could do a deal where he stays at the Bundesliga club until then, before joining when FIFA's transfer ban ends

He has been a long-term target for the Catalan club and they are keen not to let him slip out of their grasp with so many other clubs interested.

Reus's contract at Dortmund expires in 2017 and 'Efectivament' said that Barça will close a deal to ensure he signs once they can bring in new players.

However, this also involves working on reaching an agreement which Borussia Dortmund are happy to accept - Reus has suggested he won't commit to a new deal with them.

Bartomeu will continue to pursue him in a bid to increase his popularity ahead of elections.

His other moves include 'Espai Barça' and the improvements on Camp Nou, but Reus, who is still only 25, is the man he is set to place a lot of his hopes on.
