Bartomeu on whistles: "Barça's socios have the right to express opinions"

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke to the media in Cyrpus ahead of Barcelona's clash with APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League.

And he didn't avoid a question about the whistles at Camp Nou drawn by his appearance in a congratulatory video for Lionel Messi after he brok Telmo Zarra's la Liga goal scoring record.

"Socios have the right to freely express their opinion," he said.

"The only intention of the video was for Leo Messi, on a very important day, to know that he has unwavering support from everyone at the club: from the players to the president."

Asked about the team's performances, Bartomeu suggested he is happy enough with the evolution under Luis Enrique.

"The team is calm and we are improving," he added.

"Against Sevilla we demonstrated that we have a team capable of everything."

As for the Champions League, the Barça president said that the club's objective is to make sure they top the group.
