Bartomeu confirms Barcelona will appeal decision in Joan Laporta case

Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed Barcelona will appeal the judge's decision to dismiss the club's case against former president Joan Laporta.

Sandro Rosell claimed Laporta, and 16 of his directors, had generated losses when he was in charge of the club, but had hidden them.

It was claimed Rosell had posted €11.1million profit for a year which had actually seen a €79.6million loss.

However, earlier this week, a judge found in favour of Laporta and rejected Barça's claim for €47.6million.

Barça were, though, handed 20 days to appeal the verdict.

And, on Friday, Bartomeu announced that they would take up that option.
