Bartomeu: "My comments have been taken out of context"

Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke, at the presentation of the new Mini Estadi, about his words to the judge Pablo Ruz which caused such controversy on Friday

The Barcelona president's comments related to Tito Vilanova's involvement in the Neymar signing.

In response, Bartomeu said: "My comments in front of the judge have been taken completely out of context. I don't like people messing with Tito Vilanova's legacy.

"The board of directors are considering calling a general meeting of voting members to clarify matters."

On Vilanova, he added that "the only thing Tito did was ask for [Neymar] to come early and I believe he was right to do so, with hindsight.

"Tito's behaviour has always been exemplary and he was a role model to us all."

Bartomeu also responded to Jordi Vinyals' words about the club's youth academy:

"I know why he has said this and I respect his message. From the youngest players to the oldest [in La Masia] we work to teach them a series of values.

"I understand [Vinyals'] message and every coach must give the message to their teams in order to complete the objectives set."

Finally, he spoke about Camp Nou as the Copa del Rey final host

"When the Bernabeu was ruled out, I offered Camp Nou and Athletic offered San Mames.

"In the vote we received more votes and the decision was taken that Camp Nou was more suitable because it has a bigger capacity."
