Bartomeu says Barça will have a 38 million euros surplus

Josep Maria Bartomeu disclosed that Barça expects to close the 2015/16 season with 670 million euros in revenue - 38 million more than budgeted for and 62 million more than last year - and the club has lowered its debt by 20 million.

The Barça president spoke at a press conference on Thursday regarding all areas of the Catalan club in the last campaign and stressed that "we're going towards a global and digital Barça" with greater presence worldwide.

"While Barça has become the sports project of Luis Enrique winning seven out of a possible nine titles [in two seasons as our coach], we've achieved the strategic plan in reducing the debt and reinforcing our heritage, with the Espai Barça project progressing well and meeting deadlines," he said.

The 53-year-old also admitted that the board "hasn't had an easy season" after the FIFA transfer sanctions, the "Neymar case" and fines for the presence of esteladas (Catalan independence flags) at the Copa del Rey final in Madrid.
