Barcelona willing to pay for outcast Douglas to depart for another team

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is working hard to find a solution to one of the worst and most controversial signings in recent years: Douglas Pereira.

The Brazilian defender, who is once again not in Luis Enrique's plans, has a contract with the Catalan club until 2019. That's three seasons remaining with no options but to remain on the sidelines.

For this reason, and given the impossibility of closing a transfer - the 26-year-old even turned down a return to Brazil to play for Cruzeiro - Fernandez is now looking for a potential suitor with the objective to put Douglas clearly in the shop window.

Barça are willing to pay Douglas' wages in full while he goes out on loan and the Spanish champions are evening willing to forego any financial compensation involved in the deal. The only clause that would be included is a penalty if the former Sao Paulo player doesn't play a certain number of games.

Fernandez's thoughts are clear: it's better to transfer Douglas (even if it means having to keep paying his wages) and have him playing regular football than to have him remain at the Camp Nou and never feature for the Blaugrana.
