Barcelona will sign two right-backs if Dani Alves leaves: Aleix Vidal & Cedric Soares

Barcelona have started negotiations with other players as they prepare for Dani Alves to leave the club. They could even sign two different full-backs with different characteristics to complement the needs of the squad in different games.

At the moment, Barça are already in advanced talks over the signing of Sevilla's Aleix Vidal. The other target is Sporting's Cedric Soares. The move for Vidal, who is accustomed to playing further forward, but who has played as a right-back at times this season, is nearly done.

A move for Soares will depend on Luis Enrique's approval. At the moment, he is focused on securing the treble.

The option of signing Vidal has moved forward quickly in recent days. He has become the first option in the likely event that Alves leaves the club. However, the deal is on ice at the moment, just in case Alves does eventually renew. If not, Vidal, 25, will sign as the first choice right-back, although he wouldn't be able to join until January as things stand.

Relations between Sevilla and Barça have helped things move fluidly, but Sevilla won't give their word definitively until the Europa League final has been played on Wednesday night in Warsaw.

Vidal has a contract until 2019 and a release clause of 25 million euros, but Barça won't pay that much. Talks so far have been of a figure around 10 million euros, plus Denis Suarez and the loan of Alen Halilovic, or another youngster, possibly Sergi Samper.

Called up to the Spanish national team on Tuesday, Vidal is aware of the situation. He's had a great season, particularly when Emery has used him as a right-back. AC Milan are also interested, but the player preferes Barça.

As for Soares, a deal is closed with Sporting. A Portuguese international, he comes recommended by Ariedo Braida. At 23, he has the potential to improve even more.

The cost of this operation is seven million euros, as his contract ends in 2016 and he has not renewed. He's waiting for news to see if Barça will finalise the deal, which is closed between the clubs, but is still waiting the final OK from those that matter at Barça.
