Barça will pay €35 million for Arda Turan, who can't play until January

Arda Turan will sign for FC Barcelona for 35 million euros plus variables. The Turkish player will sign a five-year deal and will join up with Luis Enrique's squad this summer. The deal was completed during a meeting between Josep Maria Bartomeu and Atletico Madrid's Gil Marin in Ibiza recently.

Currently, Arda Turan is on holiday in Ibiza waiting for the word from Barça on when his presentation will take place. The Atletico midfielder has accepted the conditions that he cannot play until January and will take advantage of the coming months to adapt to his new surroundings and to get to know his teammates.

The signing of Arda Turan comes at the request of Luis Enrique, who wanted another midfielder added to his squad. Paul Pogba will not come until next summer, so the Barça boss wanted to add depth to a midfield area occupied by Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic.

La Blaugrana have taken advantage of the player's desire to leave Atletico to negotiate a deal slightly cheaper than his 41 million euro release clause. After the signing of Aleix Vidal, Arda Turan becomes Barça's second signing of the summer.
