Barcelona will only make one loan signing in January

Luis Enrique's insistent demands to reinforce the team go against the club's determination to curb expenditures on signings. The coach's desire is to bring in a new player in January, when the window opens and Barcelona are allowed to register players once more after their FIFA sanction.

The coach will have Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, but also wants a forward who can take the place of Neymar or Suarez if they need a rest, or in the worst case, are injured. A guarantee, essentially, to be a fourth option.

Barcelona cannot sign and Robert Fernandez, technical secretary, is looking at options for Luis Enrique. The challenge is to sign a quality player but on a loan spell, with the option to buy at the end of the season.

In the days ahead the technical secretary and his team will hold meetings with Josep Bartomeu and Luis Enrique, with the objective of arriving at a decision on who they want before the Club World Cup.
