Barcelona will make a 90-million-euro offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba

Barça believe that the moment has arrived to make a big move towards signing Paul Pogba, against strong competition surrounding the Frenchman. The Blaugrana have spent months considering their options, and this Wednesday want to take a definite step forward with Juventus.

There will be an official offer. A proposal which will be impossible to turn down due to its financial power: 80 million euros plus an additional 10 million euros in variables. It would be the biggest transfer fee ever received by Juventus, and furthermore the player would spend another year at the Italian club before joining Barça in 2016. The cards are already on the table.

Up until this point, Barça have been testing the waters with Juventus. Enquiring about the price, trying to find out a possible figure without official negotiation. Ariedo Braida, international sporting director, has kept in contract over the last few months in order to prevent them from selling the player before Barça make a move.

Braida can't hang in there with Juventus much longer and has spent weeks trying to get the club into the picture. Finally, despite the danger of Pogba going to a different club, Barça have asked to organise a meeting. Sporting director Albert Soler will head to Turin with an offer under his arm and knowing that he can't fail.

In fact, Braida dined on Sunday night with Juve's general sporting director Giuseppe Marotta in Milan, in order to discuss the main points of the meeting.

Barça have prepared a huge offer, by all accounts. The idea is to not pay more than 90 million euros and to have a deal with which Juventus are comfortable.

Although they can pay the fixed 80 million euros, some will be paid in advance to tie up the deal, with the rest given in 2016.

Barça assume that Juve could receive better offers than this, and have therefore included an additional variable 10 million, which will be based on different concepts. There are sporting targets, trophies,  and other factors such as Juventus giving money to participate in the Joan Gamper [friendly tournament] and secure the television rights for Italy.

The main conecpt of Barça's deal is that Juventus are able to keep Pogba for another season. The Blaugrana are unable to register players until January 2016, but the Frenchman would arrive in June. Due to this, Barça will have to cover their own backs in case of a serious injury.

The deal would mean that, whatever happens, Pogba will become a Barça player on the 30th of June 2016. Juve are unsure of this type of deal, but are open to a loan.

It is likely that the Italian side will reject Barça's great first offer and they will ask for alterations. Juve want to have first option of some of Barça's players, but the Blaugrana don't want to add anything else to their deal.

Juve are very interest in Fluminense player Gerson, who Barça have secured, but the Catalan club consider the Brazilian to be a prospect for the future and would not like to negotiate with him. In any case, Juve have time to weigh up the offer and will go through it with a fine-tooth comb.

For weeks, Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has been in Barcelona in order to talk about his client. Therefore, it is very clear that Barça have been very interested, but Raiola has refused to negotiate until an offer has been made to Juventus.

Raiola have kept in touch with Barcelona's directors and has pushed for the step to be taken this Wednesday. When this happens, Raiola will be ready to sit down and take about the desires of his player.

Barça have asked him if Pogba will push at all in order to wear a Barcelona shirt. It is what the player wants, but his agent intends to get his client a figure close to 12 million euros per year in salary.

This deal would ruin Barcelona's wage hierachy and could cause unrest in the dressing room, so the club are looking for other options. Raiola has offers that have arrived at this figure, but won't twist any arms unless his player asks him to. To play alongside Messi has its own price and Barça are confident that finally they will be able to make an agreement.
