Barcelona weighing up a move for Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli

In an interview with SPORT last week, Barcelona’s sporting director Robert Fernandez admitted that the club have various names on the table as they look to sign a replacement for Pedro Rodriguez in January. And it seems one of those names could be Sofiane Feghouli.

According to ‘Fichajes’, Barça are monitoring the forward’s situation at Valencia ahead of the winter transfer window. The Algerian is one of several players, along with Celta Vigo’s Nolito and Dinamo Kiev’s Andiry Yarmolenko, who could end up at Camp Nou.

Feghouli and Valencia are yet to reach an agreement over a new contract, with the player’s current terms due to expire at the end of the season. He wants a salary increase, but Los Che are reluctant to match his demands — so Barça are considering taking advantage of the stand-off.

The 25-year-old is currently in his fifth season at the Mestalla and is a regular in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, although the Portuguese coach does employ regular rotations.
