Barcelona want to beat Madrid to Real Betis' Dani Ceballos
The Catalan club are in for the midfielder, say Marca
Tello is set to make the move from Barça to Real Betis
Barcelona want to sign Dani Ceballos, the Real Betis midfielder who's been one of the stand out performers for Spain at the U21 European Championships in Spain. When it seemed as if Real Madrid were set to close a deal, Barça have entered on the scene for one of the hottest prospects in Spanish football.
The Catalan club don't want a repeat of the Marco Asensio and Theo Hernandez cases and, according to Marca, will move for Ceballos. The youngster renewed his deal with Betis in 2015 but has a release clause of 15 million euros, although some reports claim he'd be available for nine million euros for a 'big' club.
While Madrid would sign Ceballos and loan him back to Betis for a season, Barça, according to Marca, would offer him the opportunity to play for the first team from day one. With talks advanced regarding Cristian Tello's move in the other direction, Barça are in a position to work with Betis. The battle for Ceballos is on.
