The third-choice stopper is out of contract and will not be offered a new deal

Red Bull Salzburg are among the clubs to have made contact with Masip

Jordi Masip now knows first hand that Barcelona are not counting on him for next season. According to Catalunya Radio, the club have communicated to the first team's third-choice goalkeeper that they're not going to renew his contract, which expires on June 30.

Masip has been waiting to clear up his future after the first contact with the club threw up little by means of results. His agent has offers from clubs such as Red Bull Salzburg, who are coached by ex-Blaugrana Oscar Garcia, although the plan was always to wait and see what Barça's final stance was.

Barça haven't wanted to let time slip away and have now told Masip that he can listen to offers which come in because they will not be offering him a renewal.

The Blaugrana's plan is to return to having just two goalkeepers in the first team squad next season (Ter Stegen and Cillessen), not three as has been the case for three years now. In the case that it's necessary, the first team will call up a B team stopper.

In the B team, Jose Aurelio Sanchez, who is also out of contract, will not be offered a renewal and Adria Ortola, on loan at Alaves, will return to the Mini Estadi -- if they're promoted. Albert Varo will remain as second choice.
