Barcelona star Luis Suarez says the English press are out to get him

Luis Suarez has hit out at the media in England, claiming they are out to get him after he scored two goals in Barcelona's win over Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Several newspapers reported that Suarez had tried to bite City defender Martin Demichelis towards the end of the game, although video evidence clearly proves that not to be the case.

The Uruguayan has previously been in trouble for biting on three occasions: Once while playing for Ajax, once while at Liverpool and then against Italy in last summer's World Cup.

However, he has sought help since signing for Barça and says he is now on top of his behaviour on the pitch.

He certainly wouldn't tarnish that by biting Demichelis while leading City at the Etihad Stadium.

"[Demichelis] put his hand on my throat," he explained.

"I do not understand why they [the English media] want to do this. They want to make trouble.

"They must be hurt after what I did to them in the World Cup [scoring twice], but they forget that I played in England and they should show me some respect."

Suarez's goals in the Champions League win over Man City were his eighth and ninth of the season and he is beginning to look at home in a blaugrana shirt.
