Barcelona sign Valencia striker Paco Alcacer on five-year contract

Barcelona have signed Valencia striker Paco Alcacer on a five-year contract after protracted negotiations were eventually closed.

He becomes the sixth and final signing for Barcelona in this transfer window after the Spain international completed his move from Valencia on Monday.

With the additions of Jasper Cillessen, Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne, Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes, the 22-year-old joins the Blaugrana squad to assume the role of the fourth forward that was left vacant since Pedro's departure to Chelsea last year.

Although negotiations between Barça and Valencia had been finalised in the last few days, the deal could not be made official until Los Che owner Peter Lim had convinced sporting director Suso Garcia Pitarch to finalise negotiations and a deal for Munir El Haddadi to go the other way was in place.

Barça will pay a fixed fee of 30 million euros plus two million in variables based on the number of games played by Alcacer, who signs on a five-year contract and receives a salary of two million euros. The striker's buy-out clause has been set at 100 million euros.

Alcacer made his Valencia debut in the 2010/11 season and has since scored 43 goals in 124 games during his time at the Estadio de Mestalla.
