Barcelona B sign Sevilla Atletico defender Jose Antonio Martinez

Barcelona B have closed the signing of centre-back Jose Antonio Martinez from Sevilla Athletic after he helped his side earn promotion to the Segunda Division. 

He will arrive in Barcelona next Wednesday for a medical and to finalise the signing. He's a 23-year-old defender who will strengthen Gerard Lopez's side and he becomes the second signing after the loan of Marlon. 

The centre-back, born in Palma del Condado on February 12, 1993, will sign a two-year deal, although there's an option for a third year, too. 

Jose Antonio had an offer to continue with Sevilla, but the call from Barça led to him rejecting that offer, the reason being he's a huge Barcelona fan who has always dreamed of playing at Camp Nou. 

He is 1.89m tall and played 25 games this season, becoming a key part of a side which won promotion against Lleida at the weekend.
