FC Barcelona sign former player Eidur Gudjohnsen's son, Daniel Tristan Gudjohnsen

With the exception of Alevin A, all the teams that make up FC Barcelona's 'futbol base' (the youth teams) have concluded their seasons this weekend. Now they have time off, although the coaches and organisers will not have too much holiday time as they must prepare for pre-season and the next campaign.

This will involve defining the different squads. Who will stay, who will go, which players will move up to the next team... Most things are already sorted, but there are still some things which need confirming, such as some departures. That will probably happen this week.

What is most clear is the incomings. A few have been sorted, others are lined up, but we will focus on the one which will interest the most, even if the signing is only for the Benjamin team.

We are referring to Daniel Tristan Gudjohnsen. His surname is not a coincidence. Daniel Tristan is the third of Eidur Gudjohnsen's four children. The Icelandic player left FC Barcelona in 2009, but he maintained his house in Catalonia and his wife and children have continued to live here.

In fact, the eldest of his children, Sveinn Aron, played for the Barcelona infantil section until 2011.

Both Sveinn Aron and Daniel Tristan spent last season playing at the Gava Football School, which has prompted Barça to sign the younger Gudjohnsen, who was born in 2006. Daniel Tristan plays a central forward and he scored 34 goals in 31 matches in the Second Division Benjamin.

The only doubt now is whether he will play for Benjamin A or Benjamin B at Barcelona.
